Point the front camera at the calm-down spot and draw a box round it, once.

Start the calm-down
One minute per year of age. If they leave the spot the timer stops, and starts again when they're back.

Reconnect
When the time is up, Sit Tight walks you through it: explain, a sorry if you like, and a hug.
No camera handy? Manual mode runs the same countdown without it.

Good to know
Does it record my child?
No. The camera checks whether someone is in the spot, on the phone. Nothing is recorded, saved or sent.
What age is it for?
Children of about 2 to 7. The countdown starts at one minute per year of age, and you can change it each time.
Do I need to stay in the room?
You can step back. If your child leaves the spot, the phone chimes so you hear it from nearby, and the countdown waits until they're back.
What if my child won't stay in the spot?
The timer stops, the phone chimes, and the countdown starts again from the beginning once they're back. You can end early at any time with a three-second hold.
Which iPhones does it work on?
Any iPhone running iOS 26. It uses the front camera, so prop the phone where it can see the spot.
